Well, after my initial excitement of setting up a blog I haven't actually done any posting!  But I have done some drawing. This little guy was in the Next catalogue and I just had to draw him.

I've gone very dark on the eyes, using a Mars Lumograph 8B for the pupils.  I wasn't sure how it would look, when I've tried very soft grades of pencil before I find they can look  out of place against the shinier harder graphite.  I quite like the effect in this drawing though and I might even try a bit of colour (maybe on the eyes) on my next portrait.
